When I think about community and Bayfield, it is synonymous with the Pine River Library. There are many ways in which I have observed how this organization supports the people and businesses in Bayfield. We have a serious lack of after school care for our youth in Bayfield and the library has helped to fulfill that need by providing after school programs to children in our community. Not only that, but the library is a place that holds numerous events from art programs to fly fishing (and many more!).
The library is truly a place where our community can gather for just about anything. I have held numerous events at the library for the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce where the library helped me when we had a cancellation elsewhere. I just don't know what I would have done without their offer to use their community room!
I've also had the pleasure of being present when the library did their pop-up playground for the kids in our community. They had booths where kids could do different activities along with food and just an altogether wholesome event where you could get together with your friends.
Our library is like a bright shining star that helps bring us back together as a community. I would hate to see our town lose any of the programs or staff that the library provides because of a lack of funding. This is why I will be supporting the library by voting yes in November's ballot on 6A.
