As a part of Pine River Library’s “Tales and Tails” animal-themed summer learning program, the library will host four days of live animal visits from 10 to 11 a.m. in Library Park.
The week will kick off Monday with “Reptile Day” featuring Asmo, the library snake and a few of his slithering friends, along with Julieta the tortoise.
Tuesday, La Plata County Humane Society will bring current adoptable animals and Humane Society staff members will discuss their organization and how to be an attentive pet parent.
Wednesday, Wolfwood will bring one of its animals and participants will learn all about wolves, wolf rescue, rehabilitation and preservation.
In honor of National I Love Horses Day on Thursday, two horses will visit.
Attendees should wear a mask and practice social distancing.
