Pine River Library will be hosting a beginner conga class from 6 to 7 p.m. May 25 in the library park. The class will cover hand techniques, basic patterns and how to make different sounds with the conga.
Participants can bring their own conga or use one of the drums provided by the instructor. This class will be taught by local musician Mike Guttman, who has been a percussionist for 57 years. He has been teaching for 19 years, 12 of which was with Steve Dejka at Stillwater Music in Durango.
