Pine River Library to host ‘poet-in-residence’

“Poet-in-residence” Kathleen Willard, a Fort Collins poet, will offer two poetry programs June 10-11 at Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive. Workshops to be held 1-3 p.m. will include:

June 10: “Poetry 101,” an overview of poetry basics and prompt-writing exercises from poems written by Neruda and Whitman.June 11: “Drop-in Poetry Writing Games for All Ages,” an open workshop featuring word games and fun prompt-writing exercises; Writing stations will be set up for participants.Willard received a MA in English from the Middlebury College Breadloaf School of English and an MFA in creative writing from Colorado State University. She taught creative writing in public schools, colleges, prisons and senior housing projects, and her poetry was published by Bombay Gin, Matter, Colere, Flint Hills Review and more.
