The Pinnacol Foundation, which provides scholarships to children whose parents have been injured or killed in work-related accidents, will accept scholarship applications for the 2018-19 school year until Feb. 15.
To qualify, students must be 16 to 25 years old; the natural, adopted, step- or full-dependent child of a Colorado-based employee who was injured or killed in a compensable, work-related accident during employment; and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
The foundation evaluates applications based on the severity of injury, academic achievement, financial need, civic involvement and essay submission.
The Pinnacol Foundation awarded 112 scholarships, an average of $3,500 each, in 2017.
