‘Pitch Palooza’ looking for a few good nonprofits

The Payroll Department, in partnership with the Community Foundation, is launching “Pitch Palooza” – a new grant opportunity for La Plata County nonprofits working in youth, environment or human services.

Three nonprofits will be chosen to deliver a five-minute pitch at the Pitch Palooza event. Attendees will vote, and the Payroll Department will award:

  • $8,500 for first place.
  • $6,500 for second place.
  • $4,500 for third place.

Additional audience voting may increase prize amounts.

Applications opened Sept. 29 and will close Oct. 20. Finalists will be announced in early November and Pitch Palooza will be held Nov. 18 (time and location to be announced at a later date).

Eligibility:

  • 501(c)(3) organizations (or fiscally sponsored projects) serving La Plata County.
  • Past grantees from 2022–2024 are not eligible.
