Police arrest woman suspected of killing ex-boyfriend

ALBUQUERQUE – Albuquerque police say they’ve arrested a 19-year-old woman suspected of killing her ex-boyfriend after a failed drug exchange last week.

Police say Erlynda Lucero is suspected in the fatal shooting of Daniel Guardado on June 24.

They say Guardado had been following Lucero’s car after she pulled a gun on him during a failed drug exchange attempt at a hotel parking lot. Police believe Lucero fired shots from the passenger seat of a car, striking Guardado, who was in a different car.

Lucero was arrested Friday afternoon. She faces one count of murder. It wasn’t immediately clear if Lucero has an attorney who can comment on her behalf.
