Police are searching for a man suspected of stabbing another man outside a bar in Durango.
The incident occurred about 12:50 a.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Main Avenue.
Several men became involved in a disturbance inside Moe’s, said Lt. Ray Shupe, spokesman with the Durango Police Department.
The disturbance spilled outside, where a man stabbed another man in the neck with a knife, Shupe said.
Aaron Byrd, 24, of Durango, was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center, where he underwent surgery for a “pretty serious” wound to the neck, Shupe said.
The suspect is described as a bald, Hispanic man with “X3” or “X13” tattooed on the back of his head. He was accompanied by several other Hispanic men, Shupe said.
Police are unsure what started the altercation.
“Everyone involved was intoxicated, so it’s hard to tell,” Shupe said.
Possible charges would include attempted homicide, Shupe said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Burke Baldwin at 375-4734.
