Suspect was caught on camera taking cash
The Durango Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person who burglarized Mutu’s Italian Kitchen early Sunday morning.

The Durango Police Department is investigating a burglary at Mutu’s Italian Kitchen.

Detective Bryan Heaton said a man broke into the restaurant on the corner of Seventh Street and East Second Avenue early Sunday morning and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a secured area. Police have not identified a suspect in the burglary, Heaton said.

“We’ve gotten some tips, but they haven’t panned out yet,” he said. “But the perpetrator was caught on camera.”

He could provide only few details about the burglary citing an open investigation.

“I’m going through photos in our database, but his description isn’t giving too many leads,” Heaton said.

The suspect is described as being a white male, 5 feet 5 inches to 6 feet tall with a slim build in his 20s or 30s.

Anyone with information about the suspect or burglary should call Heaton at 375-4734.
