Police looking for Durango girl who possibly ran away

Animas High School girl may be hanging out with heroin user

A 16-year-old Durango girl appears to have run away, possibly with a man suspected of using heroin, police said Wednesday.

Hannah Bissell, daughter of Virginia Mangan, was last seen Tuesday morning at Animas High School, where she is enrolled, said Bryan Heaton, detective with the Durango Police Department.

Hannah was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black North Face jacket with a furred collar and a blue-striped shirt.

She is believed to be with Munir “Matt” Nazer, 21, of Palos Hills, Illinois, Heaton said.

“We believe that Bissell did leave on her on will, but that Nazer is an alleged heroin user which places Bissell in danger,” Heaton wrote in an email to the Herald.

They are believed to be driving in a black 1990s Chevy Z-71 pickup with a square sticker on the passenger side of the back window. They may be in the Four Corners or headed to Palos Hills.

Hannah is described as 5 feet 5 inches, weighing 115 pounds, with green eyes and blonde hair. She may have changed her hair color to red or purple.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Christopher Thomson at 375-4732.
