Police looking for vandal who drew swastikas on vacant homes

Police are looking for a man suspected of vandalizing two homes in the Three Springs subdivision.

Law enforcement is looking for a suspect(s) who wrote derogatory statements on two houses under construction east of Durango, including swastika symbols written in permanent marker.

The Durango Police Department posted on its Facebook page that on May 27, officers responded to a criminal mischief call in the Three Springs subdivision.

According to the post, two houses under construction were vandalized and there was damage to items inside both homes.

A swastika symbol was written on windows of the homes with permanent marker, police said.

Police did not immediately respond to requests for comment Thursday afternoon.

Durango Police released an image of the individual captured from a surveillance camera at the time of the crime. Anyone with information about the man’s identity or the incident itself is asked to call police dispatch at 385-2900.
