Boy, if this Easley guy was intending to be democratic (political cartoon, May 20), he hit the nail on the head by equally offending nearly everybody in the universe!
We’re to believe that anyone who is against murdering unborn babies is a kook? And if we think the Constitution should be upheld, we’re radical?
Should we assume that comatose patients are still citizens with rights, that makes us silly and inane?
God forbid we’re patriotic and appreciate those who died for freedom, because that makes us way over to the right, which everyone knows is really bad! And speaking of God, oh my! Don’t even go there!
So this turkey is all about – what? He has no beliefs whatsoever and criticizes everyone who does?
About the only people he missed were those who expect journalistic responsibility and respect of every individual’s right to have personal and moral beliefs without the local news media denigrating all they stand for.
I usually don’t even look at so-called political cartoons because, at least in the Herald, they’re always offensive, but I gotta tell you, this one takes the cake for utter irrelevance, offensiveness and disrespect.
