It was a challenging job to get 17 customers who were without power in the County Road 302 area back on the grid Friday night.
Durango Fire Protection District responded to the report of the downed power line in the 700 block of County Road 302 at 5:30 p.m. Friday, and then called in La Plata Electric Association.
“They think it was the wind,” said LPEA spokeswoman Indiana Reed just before 7 p.m.
Power was restored at 7:41 p.m., but only for a little while.
About 10 minutes later, the power was knocked out for the second time when a tree limb fell on the power line, Reed said. By 8:03 p.m., the limb was cleaned up, and power was restored for a second time. At least for now.
