Lightning may have caused a power outage Monday night that affected more than 3,000 customers in two areas.
The power outage lasted from shortly before 5 p.m. until about 6:30 p.m. when it was restored, La Plata Electric Associaton spokeswoman Indiana Reed said.
One outage was along Florida Road (County Road 240) and surrounding neighborhoods. The second outage was in Tamarron, according the online La Plata Electric Association outage map.
The lightning may have hit a single power line connected to both the Spring Creek and the Tamarron substations, LPEA manager of operations Justin Talbot said.
Crews did not find any damage to equipment, Reed said.
