Almost 7,000 customers were without power Monday morning in the Bayfield and Ignacio areas.
The outage was reported at 7:32 a.m., and crews were able to isolate and re-energize the Ignacio and Bayfield substations at 8:03 a.m. Power was restored to all members, including the Elmore’s Corner area, as of 9:45 a.m.
The outage was the result of a downed transmission line at 3530 County Road 223, northeast of Elmore’s Corner, according to a news release issued Monday by LPEA.
The transmission line is a main backbone to LPEA’s substations that serve Bayfield and Ignacio.
The outage affected 6,934 customers. The cause of the downed line was unknown.
