Powerhouse hosts summer concert series

The Powerhouse will hold another summertime community concert series beginning at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at 1333 Camino del Rio. The final concert of the series will be Aug. 6.

The second annual series carries on a tradition of local music, community gathering and nonprofit support. This 10-part music series, presented by Visit Durango and Carver Brewing Co., will be held every Wednesday from early June through early August. Each concert will be held outside on the Carver Family Plaza and double as a fundraiser, supporting The Powerhouse and a different local nonprofit partner each week through ticket sales.

Local musical talent will be featured each week, with a range of genres including funk, rock, bluegrass and reggae. Powerhouse gallery admission is included in all ticket purchases, inviting attendees to visit the newest exhibit in the gallery, “We Are Water.” There will be food available for purchase from Pupusería Torogoz and Jimmy’s World Famous Soft Serve. Beverages will available at The Powerhouse bar.

Individual, family and season pass tickets are available for purchase through The Powerhouse’s website, powsci.org.
