Cortez (1-9, 0-8 IML) received goals from Alden Adams and Manuel Martinez.
BHS (4-4-2, 3-4-1 IML) will play again at 11 a.m. Saturday against Alamosa (4-5-1, 4-4-1 IML).
Volleyball
VolleyballA hot start wasn’t enough for the Bobcats on Tuesday.
Ignacio High School’s volleyball team traveled to La Jara to take on Centauri for a non-league game and came out on fire with a 25-15 win in the first game. But the Bobcats couldn’t sustain momentum and dropped the next three games 25-15, 25-20, 25-16 to fall to Centauri in four games.
“We had a lot of unforced errors, but the girls worked the entire match,” HIS head coach Thaddeus Cano said. “I’m very pleased with that.
“We came out serving amazing, and that was big in the first set.”
IHS will have more than a week off to work on cleaning up the unforced errors. Its next game is Oct. 13 at Dolores.
