Boys Lacrosse
Boys LacrosseFruita Monument was too much for the Durango High School boys lacrosse team when the two squads met three weeks ago, and the second time around didn’t go any better for the Demons, who fell to the Wildcats 20-3 Friday in Fruita.
“We got outplayed in all facets of the game,” DHS head coach John Robinette said.
The Wildcats won the first meeting 14-4 on April 6.
The Demons also were down a few players because of injuries, and Robinette said the team had penalty trouble early on, which helped the Wildcats build an early lead.

Dillon Sheehan, in only his third game of the season after missing time with a concussion, scored all three goals for DHS (7-4, 2-4 ML). Ryan Smith assisted on two of Sheehan’s goals, while Harrison Kairalla had one assist and was 8-for-16 on faceoffs.
Dylan Gaver made 15 saves in goal for the Demons.
DHS was scheduled to play at Grand Junction on Saturday, but the game was moved to Thursday, which means the Demons will close out the season with four games in five days, all on the road, starting Tuesday at Telluride (4-6, 2-4 ML).
