A record 441 registered runners turned out early Thanksgiving morning for the annual Turkey Trot at Fort Lewis College. One of Durango’s most popular running races, the Turkey Trot features a 5 mile race and a 1 mile fun run for the kids. It is sponsored by the Durango Running Club, and all of proceeds go to La Plata County Humane Society and Manna Soup Kitchen.
Turkey Trot runners finish under the Fort Lewis College Clock Tower on Thursday morning. For more than a quarter of a century, the trot has been one of Durango´s most popular running races.
