Pride Festival is next week in Durango

The Durango Pride Festival is next week, with activities scheduled Wednesday through Sunday. Some activities have admission charges, and some are free.

On Wednesday, June 22, the movie "Boy Meets Girl" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. at the Animas City Theater, $10 admission. It will start with a moment of silence for the Orlando shooting victims.

There are activities through the day on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Thursday: Ride the Rainbow Train, $102; evening cocktail reception at the Rochester Hotel, $10; Drag Queen Bingo at Lady Falconburgh's, $10.

Friday: mountain bike in Horse Gulch for free or Purgatory Resort Flow Trail with lift charge; evening dance at Animas City Theater, $12 advance or $15 at the door; Dueling Pianos with Liberace and Elton John at the Derailed Pour House, $10.

Saturday: all but a repeat of Dueling Pianos at the Derailed are free. Pride procession on Main Ave. from noon to 1 p.m.; Pride Festival in Buckley Park, 1 to 6 p.m. with memorial tribute to the Orlando shooting victims at 3 p.m.; evening AfterGLOW party at Steamworks, only 100 tickets, get them early; "Prickley Roses" Drag Show at Moe's; Karaoke at 8th Ave. Tavern; Foam Party at Moe's.

Sunday: Bloody Marys and KINGO bingo at Lady Falconburgh's; Animas River float at 1:30 p.m., free.
