Primary election ballots to be mailed June 6

Unaffiliated voters will get two, but can complete and return only one
Mail-in ballots for the June 26 Primary Election will be mailed June 6. La Plata County Clerk and Recorder Tiffany Parker said they should be returned by mail no later than June 19. Voters who miss that deadline can return their ballots at four drop-off ballot boxes in the county.

Mail-in ballots for Colorado’s June 26 Primary Election will go out on June 6.

La Plata County Clerk and Recorder Tiffany Parker said military ballots for members of the armed services were mailed May 11, and some have already been returned.

Mail-in ballots should be completed and mailed by June 19 to ensure they make it through the mail system and arrive at the Clerk and Recorder’s Office by June 26.

Parker expects to have sample ballots for the Democratic and Republican primaries on the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder’s website next week.

The June 26 primary will be the first one in which unaffiliated voters can choose to vote in either the Democratic or Republican primary election. Unaffiliated voters must choose one party or the other to vote in the primary. Any unaffiliated voter who votes in both primaries will have both ballots rejected.

Parker said ballots that are not mailed by June 19 can be dropped off at four ballot drop-off boxes in La Plata County at:
