Within an hour of the polls closing for Tuesday’s Colorado primary, races were quickly called by major news outlets.
The Associated Press called U.S. Senate candidate Darryl Glenn the winner of a five-way race. He had about 37 percent of the vote statewide, with 23 of 64 counties reporting. Many of the more populous counties were included in that report.
Jack Graham trailed in second place with about 25 percent of the vote, and Robert Blaha was a distant third. Also in the race to face off against Sen. Michael Bennet in November were Ryan Frazier and Jon Keyser.
In the 6th Judicial District, District Attorney candidate Christian Champagne was well ahead of Ben Lammons, 66 percent to 34 percent, with most returns counted.
Republican 3rd Congressional District voters were choosing incumbent Rep. Scott Tipton over challenger Alex Beinstein, 79 percent to 21 percent. And in the 3rd District State Board of Education race, Joyce Rankin was ahead of Anita Stapleton, 56 percent to 44 percent.
