Bayfield High School will present "Once Upon a Mattress" this weekend and next. Opening night is this evening at 7 p.m. Other run dates are Saturday, then March 19, 20. The musical is an interpretation of the fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea." In this scene, the king, portrayed by Marshall Carter, center, colludes with the minstrel, right, Madison Allen, and the jester, Brittany Lane, in finding the prince a suitable princess. Larkin is protrayed by Bella Shocklee.
Joined by Lady Larkin, who longs to marry her beau, the palace quartet tries to find a way to finagle a royal marriage. This musical will be the first theatrical production in the new BHS Performing Arts center.
