The La Plata County Healthy Homes program is actively seeking homeowners to provide opportunities to improve the health of their house, condo or mobile home and provide $350 worth of free supplies. Free home supplies include: smoke and carbon dioxide detectors, radon tests, air purifiers, pillow coverings, cleaning supplies, water filters and more.
The program focuses on providing education while addressing environmental hazards within the home that can negatively impact health, especially for children, the elderly, people with preexisting health conditions or disproportionately impacted individuals and families.
Healthy Homes is part of the La Plata County Public Health Department and currently has a significant number of openings available for qualifying La Plata County residents.
