Protesting for free, and for everyone

Many thanks to Mike Sigman (Herald, April 10) for listing a few of the many organizations responsible for trying to keep the U.S. a democratic country in these uncertain times. I suspect his listing did not have the consequences he intended. What it has done for me is make it easier to know who else I can support to try to get our country back to some semblance of humanity and goodness for all.

There isn’t enough time or space to list here the contributors to the Republican agenda wanting to see the downfall of our government for their own personal gain. Most socially aware citizens know that the majority of donors are billionaire tech companies and their leaders, oligarchs and MAGA loyalists who haven’t yet figured out they are working against their own best interests.

In the meantime, I’ll continue to protest wherever, whenever and however I can. And I won’t be waiting for my payment from George Soros, as the right seems to believe money is the only reason so many of us protest. I can’t speak for everyone, but I can confidently say that we’re protesting this mess for free, because we despise what’s happening to us all. We’re even protesting for MAGA’s rights to a more fair and just society. Too bad they don’t stand up for themselves.
