It was a sweet sweep for skiers in Crested Butte.

The Purgatory Freestyle Team traveled last weekend to compete in a park and pipe competition in Crested Butte. It was a key event as athletes attempt to qualify for the United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association National Championships, which will be held in April at Copper Mountain.

Dylan Fullington and Ian Osby both claimed gold medals in slopestyle events in their respective age groups Saturday.

Behind Osby in the junior 16-17 age group was Purgatory teammates Max Wilson and Emmett Stottlemyer, giving the team a podium sweep for the event. Fullington was gold in the 14-15 age group in slopestyle, then he claimed a bronze in the youth freeski competition for his age group.

With all those medals after the first day of competition, the Purgatory team was only heating up. Two rail jams were held, and the Purgatory Park team was in fine form. Osby picked up another gold and a bronze, while Logan Fullington also struck gold. Dylan Fullington added two silver medals Sunday.

Stottlemyer slid into fourth and seventh, while Wilson also placed seventh and eighth.

Dylan Fullington and Osby pushed their lead in the Southwest Colorado Series and are the frontrunners in securing national invitations. Thanks to his win in the rail jam, Logan Fullington also moved closer to a national qualifying spot.

After the success on the road, the team will showcase their talent at home this weekend. Most of the team will compete at the USASA Triple Halfpipe competition and the Saturday night rail jam at Purgatory. Osby will travel to the USSA Aspen Open.
