Pine River Library will host the Durango vocal group Quadrivium at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9 for a family friendly vocal chamber music concert, with a free dessert reception preceding the concert at 6:30 p.m. The second concert in Quadrivium's 2018-19 series, "Wild Kingdom" celebrates the creatures of nature, from the beautiful to the bizarre! Featuring Janequin's lively Chants des oiseaux (Bird Songs), elegant madrigals and part-songs, and R. Murray Schafer's earthy Medieval Bestiary, this program is a family-friendly exploration of all things that scurry, bound, and fly. This concert features guest bass-baritone Ryan Downey, and is made possible in partnership with Pine River Arts.
Quadrivium was formed in 2016 to bring world-class vocal chamber music to Durango and communities throughout the Four Corners area. They perform fine small-ensemble vocal music, showcasing infrequently performed vocal repertoire at the highest level of artistry. Consisting of four to five voices, Quadrivium provides audiences a uniquely intimate ensemble experience.
