Question your candidates

Voters of House District 59, it’s time to question why so much money is pouring into this race. The group Colorado Way Forward has already invested heavily ($220K) ... why? Is it merely to maintain party control, or is there more to uncover?

Katie Stewart’s transparency about her affiliations is concerning. While her LinkedIn profile lists her employer, Rocky Mountain Values, this information is noticeably absent from her Ballotpedia page. Stewart only disclosed this connection when directly questioned at a Farm Bureau forum. Yet, in other debates, interviews and even on her own website, she avoids mentioning it. Why?

Rocky Mountain Values is notorious for its role in political influence, and this lack of disclosure raises questions about the integrity of her campaign. Voters deserve to understand who is backing their representatives.

Moreover, while Stewart claims to be a fourth-generation Coloradan, she was born in San Francisco and raised on the West Coast. This inconsistency raises doubts about her genuine connection to Colorado. She presents herself as a “rural Democrat” but receives substantial funding from outside the district, which complicates her claims of representing local values.

Additionally, expense reports suggest she recently began to pay for an apartment in Denver, calling into question her rural ties. Who does Katie truly aim to serve – our community or outside interests?

Voters deserve a representative who is transparent, authentic and genuinely connected to the community they seek to represent.
