Quit repeating sordid photo details in Redwine coverage

Far be it from me to rain on The Durango Herald’s First Amendment parade, but is it absolutely necessary that every story about the Redwine trial include a description – in nauseating detail – of the “sordid photos”?

I realize interest in the trial is intense and I’m generally impressed with the Herald’s coverage, but harping on the photos day after day seems both cheap and redundant - not what one expects from the Herald. Readers don’t need that mental picture with their morning coffee.

Yes, Mark Redwine apparently has some creepy habits, but the story of the alleged murder of a child is sordid enough without the tabloid-style flourishes.
