I’m writing to encourage Durango to vote in the La Plata Electric Association Board of Directors elections. Specifically, I am endorsing R. Michael Bell and encourage other residents to join me in voting for Mr. Bell.
The future of LPEA depends upon a candidate who possesses the characteristics of experience and innovation. This candidate should have the capacity to balance between providing the continuous, reliable service that all co-op members have come to expect, with a smart, strategic pathway to the future.
He is someone who has demonstrated dignity, integrity and passion over many years as a well-known and respected architect. Mr. Bell has been planning and designing renewable energy for over 30 years. He knows business – having started one of the largest architectural firms in Durango.
He understands the balance of providing affordable service to LPEA customers while making sure the member-owned co-op remains a viable entity that provides the most affordable power over the long run. Mr. Bell has years of experience as a board member, serving on numerous boards over the years that has made our community a better place to live.
Finally, he was a long-time leader in Boy Scouts of America, serving as local scoutmaster teaching our youth the importance of “leaving no trace behind” and respecting and preserving our limited natural resources.
I know R. Michael Bell will work hard for the entire membership and I encourage you to cast your vote for him.
