Rafters: Wear your life jackets

“Without the proper life vest, she could have died,” said Capt. Lou Vito with the Durango Fire Protection District after a raft with three people hit one of the Main Avenue bridge supports. The collision sent one rafter into the water. Vito said the two remaining in the raft were not wearing flotation vests.
