The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will extend its Cascade Canyon Express passenger service to Sept. 4. It has also expanded the days and hours of its depot, gift shop and museum operations in downtown Durango.
A third steam Cascade Canyon Express trip on heavier traffic days will depart from the Rockwood station at 3:15 p.m. after July 18.
Passenger service to Silverton will remain on hold until further notice, and until the full line can safely be reopened.
The depot is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and closed on Sunday. The gift shop is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The railroad’s museum is now open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
The railroad is also conducting three daily one-hour railyard tours at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
