I am writing to urge all my neighbors in LPEA District 4 to vote for Karen Barger in the LPEA Board of Directors election.
If you’ve not met Karen, stop in at Seasons. She’s a busy, busy business owner, but if she’s able, she’ll take the time and sit down and meet with you to discuss what she knows is going on with our electric cooperative. She’s got a completely open-door policy and as a local business owner who believes in sustainability and being realistic about all of us having reliable electricity, she needs to be re-elected to the LPEA Board of Directors.
Karen is an experienced restaurateur, but she’s taken the last three years during her service on the board to go to national seminars and classes and actually learn about the realities of what’s going on with our electricity grid.
On top of that, she has built a home and raised their sons to be excellent citizens here in La Plata County. I’m sure four years ago she never thought she’d now know so much about the electricity industry in the country. She has no agenda other than keeping our lights on, being as sustainable as possible and keeping our rates as low as we can. It’s a challenge.
Thank you, Karen, for stepping up for all of us. Please join me in voting for Karen Barger. You will be glad you did.
