In the four years that Julie Westendorff had served as a La Plata County commissioner, I have found her leadership skills to be superb.
She has taken a serious interest in the nuts and bolts for our county and has been willing to take a leadership role on so many efforts. Her leadership has resulted in the governor signing a bill that gives Colorado the ability to enter into interstate agreements on many aspects, including the possible establishment of enterprises like our airport.
Her efforts along with state Sen. Ellen Roberts in this regard were exemplary, and the type of leadership that makes our corner of this state viable. Westendorff has also been accessible for many other issues, including our deteriorating roads and bridges and the horrific mine spill in the Animas River last summer.
I am casting my vote for a proven leader, Julie Westendorff. Why don’t you join me? You will be glad you did.
