Re-electing Tipton good sense for state

As the controversial presidential race overshadows the political landscape in our country right now, it’s easy to overlook the hard work of those who are fighting for us in Washington, D.C.

U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton is a common-sense politician looking out for rural Colorado.

As the end of this administration comes near, America’s farming and ranching families are facing an onslaught of regulation that could severely impede our ability to operate here in Colorado.

Protecting private property rights, and just as importantly, water rights, has been on the forefront of Tipton’s congressional to-do list. In fact, Tipton sponsored the Water Rights Protection Act, stopping the U.S. Forest Service’s directive that would allow the agency to usurp states’ rights and obtain water rights from private entities – despite private water development and property rights.

As vice president of the Congressional Western Caucus, Tipton has also been actively engaged in one of pressing issues facing the West – the sage grouse. With radical environmental groups using the sage grouse protection as a guise for locking up our Western landscape, it is critical to have members of Congress who recognize the successful conservation efforts that are done at the local and state level in partnership with the ranchers who steward the land every day.

In a time of political uncertainty, Tipton is a steadfast leader and is dedicated to seeing rural America thrive – a necessity in Washington, D.C.

It is imperative that we keep members like Scott Tipton in Congress.
