Readers write poetry:

Down by the river

In winter we shiver.

Say,” What the heck!”

“It’s time for the rec.”

Score keeping gray hairs,

What a nightmare!

All matter of ages,

In various stages.

Advanced, intermediate, beginner,

Always a loser and always a winner.

Dinkers and thinkers,

Whackers and stackers,

School yard squabbles over

Lines and court times.

Occasional dramas

With grandpas and grandmas.

Plastic holed balls

Dinging off walls.

Stay out of the kitchen

Or points you’ll be miss’n

You’re not a hero

If your score ends up zero,

And you won’t be tickled,

Instead, you’ll be pickled!
