I am writing this letter to request that our citizens of La Plata County do not sign the petition to recall Gwen Lachelt.
To begin with, standing up for issues such as the repeal of regulations to protect us from the dangers of methane gas being released into our air, whether on a local or national level, is not considered to be unethical, nor does it demonstrate that her allegiance is elsewhere.
Gwen has already been subjected to an ethics investigation and nothing unethical was found, so the whole matter seems to be bogus.
But the whole idea of having some big money organization like Americans for Prosperity (funded by the Koch brothers) trying to interfere in our small southern Colorado county is not bogus. It’s a crime!
