Driving south on Trans Lux Drive, I came to the new intersection, just past the movie theater. At the stop sign, a large sign depicts “No left turn” onto East Turner Drive, and thus, no access to La Posta Road. I assume the configuration of this intersection is due to the past bickering about access to Mercury Payment Systems. How stupid is that? The city should never have allowed this intersection to be constructed in its current configuration with no left turn from Trans Lux Drive.
Adjustments should have been made and finalized before construction. From this intersection, a driver would have to drive about a mile out of his way to get to La Posta Road. So, I did what the other vehicles were doing, look all around, then make an illegal left turn onto East Turner Drive, a right on the Mercury Drive underpass and onto La Posta Road. It would not require a lot of time nor money for the city to correct this foolish intersection.
