Red Rocks new home for music hall

The Colorado Music Hall of Fame will make the Red Rocks Trading Post, at the base of the world famous natural amphitheater, its new home.

“Starting with Mayor Hancock, the city of Denver has been an amazing ally in our quest to find a permanent home,” says Chuck Morris, CMHOF’s chairman. “This has been our dream from day one. We will always appreciate the support we received from 1stBank Center and Broomfield officials in getting us started, but the CMHOF really needed a permanent home that would be open year round on a daily basis, and provide the opportunity for future expansion. With the million people who go through Red Rocks annually, this is a prayer answered.”

It is anticipated that the CMHOF will be open at the Trading Post for the Red Rocks concert season in summer 2014. The John Denver “Spirit” statue, a larger-than-life bronze figure that was recently donated to the CMHOF, will be relocated to the entrance of the Trading Post.

Last week, the CMHOF inducted folk music legend Judy Collins, the Serendipity Singers, Bob Lind and Chris Daniels into the organization at the Paramount Theater.

Previous inductees include John Denver and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Harry Tuft of the Denver Folklore Center and promoter Barry Fey, and the Astronauts, Sugarloaf, Flash Cadillac and KIMN radio.
