Refugees not the source of our violence

Just weeks in office and it’s a maelstrom.

And the worst of the ego-driven complaints and questionably unconstitutional moves is the immigration and refugee crisis. All from one man’s misinformed, dreadful actions.

The darkest part of the xenophobia President Trump exudes is that it seems no one connects the dots between who is creating violence here, and who is not.

The chance of being terrorist-slain – meaning killed by anyone with a political agenda – is one in 3.6 billion.

According to Trace, between 2005 and 2015, 71 Americans were killed in terrorist attacks here, and 301,797 were killed by home-grown gun violence.

The “Bogeyman” isn’t the refugee. Congress must stop this president’s outrageous behavior and address immigration and refugee issues like adults.

We have a moral obligation to the people we’ve hurt resulting from the Iraq war domino effect.

And a moral obligation to clean up our own violence at home before blaming others!
