Region 9 committee marks anniversary

The Region 9 Economic Development of Southwest Colorado celebrated 25 years of providing business loans and honored three members who have served since the committee’s inception.

Fritz Klinke and Bill MacDougall, both from San Juan County, and Bruce Johnson of Montezuma County were recognized at a recent Loan Committee and Board of Directors meeting.

Klinke is the owner of NA Graphics in San Juan County and has been a local business owner for over 50 years. He is a long-time member of the San Juan Historical Society.

MacDougall is the chief building inspector and code enforcement officer for the town of Silverton. He too is a long-time business owner/manager and 42-year resident.

Johnson relocated from Colorado Springs to run the Dove Creek State Bank in the 1990s and remains an active volunteer in numerous organizations since his retirement.

“Klinke and MacDougall are true entrepreneurs and offer their business perspective and understanding of small business challenges to the committee,” said Jenny Stollar, loan officer for Region 9. “Johnson as a former banker and economic developer has a great knowledge of what needs to be considered in the financials.”
