Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado welcomes Shak Powers as its newest regional project manager.

He will lead regional coordination and management of transit, broadband and housing initiatives in counties including Archuleta, Dolores, Montezuma La Plata and San Juan as well as in the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Indian tribes.

Powers won the Economic Development Leader of the Year award from Region 9 in 2021. He lives in Mancos and will work primarily out of the Cortez Business Resource Center office. He can be reached at shak@region9edd.org.
