Cleary keeps cleaning up awards
Ranked fifth in the NCAA Division II South Central Region, Zac Lawrence and the No. 24 Fort Lewis College men’s soccer game have big games on tap this weekend to close out the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season. Fort Lewis is just ahead of Metro State in the regional rankings, and the Roadrunners (11-3-2, 6-2 RMAC) will come to town at 3 p.m. Friday to play the Skyhawks (11-3-2, 6-1-1 RMAC) at Dirks Field. Both teams have clinched a spot in the RMAC Tournament, which will be hosted by Colorado Mines (13-0-3, 9-0-1 RMAC), but maintaining the fifth spot or climbing to fourth in the regional rankings is of great importance to the Skyhawks.

Cleary continues to clean up awards
Days after winning his second Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor, Fort Lewis College freshman Sean Cleary garnered national praise for his work in the classroom.
Cleary was named an Academic All-District recipient by the College Sports Information Directors Association of America.
Cleary, originally from Colorado Springs, has started all 15 games for FLC this season. Last week, FLC held Colorado Mines scoreless to become the first team to do so all season. He’s part of a back line that has allowed only 17 goals this season.
Cleary also has been involved offensively this year with two goals on six shots.
