The reindeer (two of them) are well taken care of in Ignacio. There is food and water readily available at all times, their living quarters are adequate, their pen is cleaned on a regular basis and they receive regular vet visits. In addition, Animal Protection has been out to the property and spoken at length with the caretaker, enlightened about the reindeer mannerisms and knows that they are in good hands.
Also at this time the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is in the process of acquiring two reindeer rescues that will add to the quality of life and companionship of the two in Ignacio. Additional work will be done to the property to accommodate all of their needs.
