Reinhold, Studi add star power to Durango Film

Hollywood veterans Judge Reinhold and Wes Studi will be among the VIP guests at this year’s Durango Film: An Independent Film Festival. The 9th annual festival will run Feb. 26 through March 2 at the Animas City Theatre, Gaslight Cinema and Durango Arts Center.

Reinhold will speak and answer questions Feb. 28 at the Animas City Theatre during a special screening of “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” He starred as Brad Hamilton in the 1982 film that hasn’t lost any of its popularity in the years since. Reinhold’s more than 75 movie credits also include the “Beverly Hills Cop” franchise, “The Santa Clause” franchise, “Ruthless People” and “Stripes.”

Studi also is no stranger to the blockbuster with starring and pivotal roles in “Geronimo: An American Legend,” “Dances with Wolves,” “The Last of the Mohicans,” “Heat” and “Avatar,” the highest-grossing film in history, among many others. He’ll attend the Native American Film Reception Feb. 27 at Sorrel Sky Gallery and will be a guest at the “Lying to Tell the Truth” panel at the screening of his film “The Only Good Indian” on March 1.

In 2013, he was inducted in to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s Hall of Great Western Performers.

Festival passes are available for sale online or at the Durango Downtown Welcome Center, Eighth Street and Main Avenue.
