Discuss the spiritual nature of nonhuman animals

Karlene Stange will discuss “Animas: the Spiritual Nature of Animals” at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 419 San Juan Drive.

Participants will gain insight into the soul of nonhuman animals through the study of creation myths, shamanism, pagan beliefs, Hinduism, Buddhism, Biblical stories, science and the spiritual teachings of mystics, clairvoyants, channels and animal communicators.

Stange has practiced veterinary medicine in La Plata County for 30 years. She now focuses on veterinary acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition and spiritual teachings about animals.

The Rev. Sutton to talk conservative Anglicanism

The Rt. Rev. Ray R. Sutton, Ph.D. (Oxford) will make an episcopal visit Sunday to All Saints Anglican Church.

At a fellowship meal after worship, Sutton will speak about developments in the Anglican Church in North America and the broader conservative Anglican world. All Saints Church meets at 10 a.m. in the Windom Room of the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.

Farmington church to host adventure for veterans

The Cross Roads Community Church will host the Four Corners Warriors Extreme Adventure through Wednesday in Farmington and the surrounding area.

The event will include a parade through downtown Farmington at 9:30 a.m. Saturday; fly-fishing Monday Aug. 10;a ride on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and a trip to the Bar D Chuckwagon on Tuesday.
