Bishop to install new vicar at All Saints church

The Rt. Rev. Royal Grote, Jr., bishop ordinary of the Reformed Episcopal Church’s Mid-America Diocese, will preside at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at All Saints Anglican Church, which meets in the Windom Room of Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.

Grote will install the Rev. Edward Fowler as the new vicar of All Saints. All Saints Anglican is a mission church of the Reformed Episcopal Church. The Reformed Episcopal Church, founded in 1873, is a founding member of the Anglican Church of North America.

Congregation Har Shalom announces services

Congregation Har Shalom, 2537 County Road 203, will offer these services:

A Kabbalat Shabbat with Herb will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday. A musical Kabbalat Shabbat will take place from 6:30 to 7 p.m. A free catered meal will take place from 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. followed by a text study, storytelling, singing and discussion from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m.

A Shabbat Morning Service with Eli Herb will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 24. Shabbat morning services will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A Torah service will take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a potluck lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Dishes can have meat, but do not mix milk and meat, and no nonkosher meats.

Vallecito Church to host Cowboy Jamboree Aug. 24

Vallecito Church will host an afternoon of country gospel music and cowboy poetry beginning at 1 p.m. Aug. 24.

Performers will include Sandra Dee, winner of the 2009 Inspirational Country Music Female Vocalist of the Year; Charlie Mahone, a rodeo champion and inspirational speaker; Frank and Jorja Balsz, a praise team with Just One Ministries; Tim Krebs, who performs Western and gospel music; Same Noble and Cooper Knox, cowboy poets; and local Christian music performer Jerry Arnold.

Vallecito Church is at 17576 County Road 501.
