Lutheran church to host egg hunt
A community Easter Egg Hunt will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. April 4 at Christ the King Lutheran, 495 Florida Road.
The hunt will feature games and crafts. People should bring a basket. All are welcome. The hunt will begin promptly at 4 p.m.
Easter schedule to run in the Herald
The Durango Herald will run a schedule of special services to be held during Easter Week.
One schedule will run March 28 and include services from Palm Sunday through Good Friday.
A second will run April 4 and will include special activities on Holy Saturday and Easter.

Quakers to host talk about prison violence
“Alternatives to Violence in a Colorado Prison” will be presented at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Friends (Quaker) Meetinghouse, 803 County Road 233.
Norma Cady will talk about her recent work to introduce “Alternatives to Violence” workshops into Colorado’s Buena Vista Correctional Facility.
The Alternatives to Violence Project provides two- to three-day workshops to help people lead nonviolent lives.
The Buena Vista project is focused on building teams of trained workshop facilitators within the correctional facility.
A key element of the project is pre-emptive conflict resolution by creatively transforming unhealthy relationships and building on everyday experiences to develop skills for dealing with violence and conflict.
Cady will offer a participatory, role-playing exercises in discovering the power to transform behaviors. She also will describe her experiences in the correctional facility project.

Har Shalom seeks spiritual leader
Congregation Har Shalom is looking for a spiritual leader to lead services and provide general religious guidance.
This is a part time (one to two days per week) position. Responsibilities will include leading services for Jewish Holy days and events, community outreach and assistance in educational programming. Experience desired includes strong knowledge of Jewish liturgy and traditions, a history of leading services and strong interpersonal skills. Congregation Har Shalom is affiliated Reform, but provides a very inclusive range of services for its diverse congregation.

Unitarians to discuss friendship Sunday
The Rev. Katie Kandarian-Morris will give a talk called “The Glory of Friendship” at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Durango, 419 San Juan Drive.
Kandarian-Morris will speak about the spiritual inspiration that comes from these relationships. People are asked to bring a friend.
