With all of the major division, separation and side-taking that is currently happening in our country, I would like to encourage each of us to please look for and search out our commonness and similarities, rather than focusing on our differences. I believe that with all of the chaos and massive change that is in progress at the moment, we may be losing sight of what traits we share innately as human beings.
In order to begin to heal our nation, I beg of you to dwell on these things – that we all want to live a life of peace, freedom and safety, and that despite our differences, we have infinitely more in common with our neighbors than we do variations.
In addition, let us each look within ourselves to discover and root out those possibly hidden judgments or criticisms that we may be harboring against any other group of people. For if we are holding any sort of “othering” within ourselves, we have little chance of contributing toward the overall healing of our community and country.
Change always starts from within and ripples outward toward the greater good.
My Four Corners family, we are all on this journey together and we can and will heal, but it starts from inside of each of us, and in remembering that we are part of the same diverse and beautiful humanity. Sending you all harmony and comfort today and always.
