Renewable Energy Durango will host a presentation on “Energy 101 Navigating the New Energy Market” from 3:15 to 5:45 p.m. March 23, at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
Topics of discussion will include: Power market dynamics, local generation and jobs, LPEA buyout potential from Tri-State contract, Kit Carson and Delta-Montrose Electric co-ops, and 100 percent renewable energy Durango.
Speakers will be: Eric Van Geet, former Fort Lewis College Student Senate; Guinn Unger; and Britt Bassett.
The energy panel will include: Unger, Bassett, City Councilor Dick White, Tim Wheeler and Jack Turner.
LPEA board candidates Jeff Mannix (District 2), Joe Lewandowski (District 3), Jack Turner (District 4) will be there. Durango City Council candidates Barbara Noseworthy and Kim Baxter will also be there.
